Loving on Leftovers
Today has been nice so far! On the agenda:
- Take the car to the dealership for repairs
- Check out the new gym (free 3 day pass!!!)
- Prep for the party!
Dropping off the car was a cinch. Hubs is a firm believer that I should never go to a dealership alone because I will be worked over and scammed. I try to believe that he isn’t insulting my intelligence, but just stating the obvious: Car dealerships target women and try to exploit them. I have to admit, I’ve seen it to be true.
Next, we went to try out Urban Active at the Greene. After doing the obligatory gym tour and sales pitch, Hubs and I hit the treadmills (it is SUPER windy here today!). I wasn’t a huge fan of the gym. They charge $29.99 a month (not bad), but the facilities are not that nice (the locker rooms were totally trashed) and I know I can get almost the equivalent at another gym that charges only $9.95 a month. For now, we aren’t interested in joining any gyms. I’m motivated enough to head to the base gym for a early morning workout, and on the weekends, I prefer to run outside and just bundle up. I love getting some sun in the winter time! I usually feel pale as a ghost…I’m such a FL girl.
I did a FAST 4 mile run (was averaging 6:30 – 6:45 pace) but was dying of heat!! The treadmills are RIGHT in the sun…awful placement.
We came back for lunch and I made a mixed plate of leftovers:
While we were at the Greene we stopped by Teavana to get some hot tea for this chilly day! I got the Six Berry Sangria Rooibos tea. Delish!
And for lunch, leftovers took the spotlight!
A mixed plate of spinach, leftover Against the Grain Nut Free Pesto pizza, and leftover shredded pork. This pizza is my absolute FAVORITE GF pizza; however, it is decadent, so I don’t indulge often. Plus, it COVERED in cheese…and we all know that I’m trying to limit my dairy intake. Cheese = weakness for this GF/Paleo blogger!
I love taking photos in natural light! Something that I don’t have the privilege of doing most days!
Alright, off to run errands! I’ll keep you posted on the party details
Do you belong to a gym? What do you use it for (i.e. group fitness classes, treadmills, swimming, weights)? If you don’t belong to a gym, what do you do for workout options?

Hi There! I gave up dairy 3.5 months ago and my life changed! Kinda gross, but I coughed up mucus for 1 week straight and I am can’t imagine ever going back! Check her blog article on the negatives of dairy! http://diaryofanutritionist.com/2013/01/07/go-dairy-free-dont-got-milk/
Hi Kelly! I am a firm believer that dairy is alright for some people, but certainly not for me (or you!). I also get the horrific mucus effect when I eat dairy, so I’ll definitely check out her article. Thanks for sending it my way!!
Hey..also please check out Dr. Robert Morse on youtube. I would LOVE your opinions on dairy for everyone after listening to his years of experience, etc.
