Food Should Taste Good…and it sure do!

July 1, 2010

Wowza, what a day! I am beginning to catch on to this efficient blogging effort…auto-publishing=AWESOME!

Up at 5:20 AM today thinking that I wasn’t going to make it through the day, and TA-DAH! Did it! Don’t you love impressing yourself??

Standard pre-workout snacks, but today I did a double doozy! Worked out on my own and then again with my co-worker who needed to take a fitness test. I ran along side her and pumped out pushups in my brand new Salsa Brava Running Club Shirt (Nacho Ordinary Running Club…get it :-)?) So, in between workouts, I had time to nibble on one of these:

Mariani…you have impressed me! Super delicious! Normally, I don’t like their products because they add extra sugar to the mix, but these bars are sweetened with honey and that is all folks!

Breakfast was another bowl of overnight oats, but instead of oats I used some pre-cooked buckwheat from Lydia’s Organics. I use the Apricot Sun variety, but just recently ran out. Wish I had some more, but it is a little pricey for my morning breakfast :-) Maybe Lydia will send me a couple flavors to taste and I will get so hooked on one that I can’t stop buying!

I barely had time to eat half my breakfast before my eye appointment. I have this fear that I may go blind (probably because my last doc kept reiterating the symptoms of retinal detachment because I am a candidate), so I am super paranoid whenever something is up with the eyes. However, we are golden…20/20 and 20/15 NICE!

Lunch was another mixture of leftovers and absolutely YUM! A bed of spinach topped with Pumpkin Sweet Potato Curry and brown rice. Really hit the spot. On the side I had a Celestial Seasons Raspberry Zinger Iced Tea…in a DON SABROSA SALSA JAR!! Another pro…reusable jars…genious!

After about an hour, I was starving. False, I was hungry immediately after finishing lunch, but I told myself my brain had not caught up with my tummy…after one hour of hunger pains, enough was enough. SNACK TIME!

My snack consisted of Food Should Taste Good Sweet Potato Tortilla Chips and some Don Sabrosa Salsa. Now, I know I was on my DS (Don Sabrosa) soap box yesterday, but today is a whole different ball game…FSTGSPCAA (FOOD SHOULD TASTE GOOD SWEET POTATO CHIPS ARE AMAZING!)

The sheer variety of these chips just boggles my mind! This is like a GF Candy Shop, only with chips. These are so versatile too. Not only are they great for salsa dippers, but they can also double as bread crumbs (crush them up), ice cream toppings (chocolate chips sooooo yum!), a great base for a GF taco salad…the opportunities are endless!

FSTG Breakdown

-Affordable Chips!
-GLUTEN FREE!
-Yay for healthy tortilla chips!
-Extremely versatile!

Sneak peak for tomorrow:

-Kombucha How-To post
-Dinner recipe to make you drool :-) (hints: corn based + sides (Jessica How Sweet, your husband would be satisfied :-))
